5 REASONS WHY I DID MICROBLADING

“Your brows introduce you before you speak.” ~Author: Unknown

Listen, I love a good brow, and I just believe your brows can make or break your makeup look. We all know our brows are cousins. They are related but not identical. One cousin understands the assignment, while the other just doesn’t get it. Well, at least my cousins (brows) don’t.

Today, I want to share with you queens five reasons why I did Microblading, and hopefully, it helps you with your microblading journey. I started researching microblading and the process about a year or so ago. I honestly was not sure if it’s something I wanted to do. I just knew I needed to learn more about it.

I found out that microblading is a tattoo but not a permanent tattoo, which is why it only lasts two to three years. Unlike a permanent tattoo, microblading does not go deep into your skin which is why it’s temporary, not permanent. Also, it just makes your life easier when it comes to getting your makeup done. How wonderful does it feel waking up every day with your brows done? Like unbeatable.

Let’s get into the five reasons why I got my brows microbladed.

  1. I honestly struggle with creating my brows. I have been doing my makeup for years now, and applying my brows and lashes are the two most difficult things I struggle with. I needed that to change, so I did microblading.
  2. Before I did my microblading, I did research, I understood the risk, if there was any, and I knew what I was getting into. Although I did not find any risks, I would say make sure the person you go to knows how to do this well. You don’t want to end up on Botched.
  3. I wanted my makeup process to become more manageable and less complex.
  4. I needed to condense the amount of time it took me to do my makeup. I work full time, I own a blog, and I also work for my church. My plate is full; whatever that can help me save some time, I need it. I get dressed every day, even though I work from home. I wanted to apply my foundation and throw on some lip gloss and call it a day. Microblading helps me achieve this goal.
  5. Lastly, I was looking to cut down costs. With microblading, I don’t have to worry about buying brows pencils for the next two to three years.

I won’t go deep into the cost because it varies; however, it’s between $400-$550. The healing process takes between 10-14days. In my case, I did the Ombre powder brows. Your brows go through different phases of healing. It starts from milky (which I did not like lol), peeling, itching, and then wala, hello brows. You are advised not to wear makeup or wash your face for the 10 days of the healing process. I did wear some makeup, but it was not a full face. I made sure makeup did not touch my brows. I didn’t fully wash my face for the entire 10 days.

My wonderful sister from the @themaneexchange did my brows. I mean, can’t you see how wonderful mine are? She has over two years of microblading experience, and her work speaks for itself.
