How to dress this summer: 7 Summer Closet Staples

It’s that time of the year again, my favorite season which is Summer. My birthday is in the summertime and frankly speaking, this is when my style shines the most. Some people’s style shine bright during other seasons, like Fall, Spring, or Wintertime. This is when they do know how to style their outfits the most. This does not mean other season fashion doesn’t count. What I am trying to point at is that everyone loves a particular season and its fashion. Mine is summer. What’s yours?

Today, I will be sharing some summer essentials to add to your wardrobe for a smooth transition.

First up is fabric. Your choice of fabric during summer can make or break your look. Jeans/denim are heavier fabric and can sometimes be uncomfortable in hot weather. Ditching those jeans for some linen will be a great option. A pair of linen pants, blouse, and heels can address the same style desires as jeans/denim.

Up next are dresses. My summer closet staples are dresses and trainers. It is excellent to have Mini dresses as your closet staple. They are not too long, which is also perfect for those scorching summer days. I usually would style my mini dresses with trainers, a crossbody bag, and some oversized hats.

Don’t forget colors. Your choice of color can break or make your outfit. Colors like white, beige, or light colors are good summer color options. They are not too heavy on the eyes.

Button-down shirts. Unlike colors or fabric, button-down shirts can be used during all seasons; however, summertime is the most appropriate time to get yourself a pair or two buttons-down shirts.

Shoes, open toes shoes are most appropriate for summer. From slides to heels or flats, get yourself as many pairs as possible.

Jewelry should be minimal during summertime. Having on four layers of necklaces while sweating is just not cute. On the other hand, sometimes one is enough, especially during the summer.

Bodysuits. They are also one of my personal favorites. I usually get myself four to five different bodysuits and colors (usually white and light brown) during the summertime. They are easy to add to any outfit. For example, you can pair a mini skirt with a bodysuit a platform heel, and you’re all set.

The goal for summer clothing is to be breathable and flexible. Pieces like short sleeves, blouses or shirts, linen, and open toes shoes are all great pieces to have in your closet.

That brings us to the end of today’s post. I hope you enjoyed this post, and I will see you next time.

Xoxo, Mo!
