MARCH Q&A: BUYING AND STYLING DIFFERENT OUTFITS.

Just like that, we have entered April. Like everyone else, I am very excited about the warm weather. I’m ready for my hot wife summer even though my body is so not ready.

This month, you guys asked me questions about shopping, style recommendations, budgeting, who my favorite influencers are, adulting, and life in general. These questions are not answered in any particular format, and once again, thanks for being part of my tribe.

Q: Where are you from?

A: For those that are new here, I am from Liberia, West Africa. Most times, my last name confuses people, and they think that I am from Nigeria. I am married to a Nigerian (Edo/Yoruba), which is where my last name comes from. I changed my name after marriage, and to be honest, it was not a decision I struggled to make. From a very young age, I knew that I would carry my husband’s last name after I am married. One week after our wedding I changed my name.

Q: Which influencers inspire you the most?

A: The list is long for one, but I will start off to say @tenickab; I admire her work a lot. @melissaswardrobe has good products recommendation, which I admire of her. @jadorefashion is the Queen B in my book. @romeosfashionfix is just a fashion genius if you ask me. Lastly, @hayet.rida for creativity. She is just amazing at what she does. Also, we can’t forget the OG herself, @themattiejames.

Q: Any recommendations on where to buy shoes that last?

A: I created a blog post about this question a while back. Check it out here: SHOE LOVERS’ IDEAL PLACES TO SHOP!

Q: Do you consider yourself a beauty or style influencer?

A: I am more of a style content creator. I do dab into beauty a bit but, styling is my thing. I love to style; I love creating looks that speak to me. I love creating looks that are unique and personal to me. It’s funny because I honestly do not like to try on clothes, but I do love to style looks. I will be the one to go to the store, buy the clothes, and don’t try them on until I am ready to wear them. If they don’t fit, I return them. I started my blog to make others feel how I feel when I have on the right outfit. I want you to visit my blog or page and see a look that you will feel your best in when you recreate it.

Q: Do you prefer designer products or regular brands?

A: I won’t sit here and lie to you that I don’t like to buy a pair of LV shoes. I am currently in a different stage of my life. I am prioritizing things and making wise financial decisions. With that being said, that does not mean I won’t buy designer products in the future. I am just saying right

now in my life; those are not a priority.

Q: You are the blazer Queen sis; where do you shop?

A: I shop everywhere. There is no particular place I buy blazers, but I will start with Mango, Zara, Asos, and your local thrift stores. They have the good blazers. The thrift stores have vintage blazers, which I love the most.

Q: How did you find your style?

A: I will say that my style is ever-evolving. I love comfortable clothes. As you see in my content, I love blazers, so they are the defining pieces in my closet. They help me create looks that I love.

Q: What is your strategy when you wardrobe shopping?

A: I won’t talk much about the money aspect because I will be giving you the wrong advice. I am still learning money management. However, I shop for pieces that I can style in multiple different ways that will last me. I create my looks based on how I feel, and I also shop for pieces to complete a look. However, whatever I buy to help me create a look, I make sure that a piece of clothing or accessory can be used on other looks. I also reuse all the pieces after my shoot for day-to-day wear.

Q: A list of all the places you shop?

A: Wooh, I shop from everywhere. There is no particular brand that I only shop from, but I will also say that budget does play a factor in where I shop. Everything you see on my feed has been listed on my LiketoKNOW.it profile (@hermillennialcloset). I will say start from there to pick out for pieces and get an idea of where I shop.

That brings us to the end of March Q&A, guys. I will see you all next month

Xoxo, Mo!
