MY CURRENT SKINCARE ROUTINE. SUMMER EDITION

Hello queens!

This post is long overdue for several reasons. I have been on a skincare journey for a while now. I wanted to test out products for a while before sharing any information on them. Also, I have learned that some products are just not meant for everyone/skin, which is okay.

In today’s post, I will be sharing some of the products I have found useful that clear my skin, and I have seen great changes in my skin. We will start with the cleanser and then go into the rest.

Face Oil because I have oily skin, I tend to use very few oil products on my face. However, I use this Korean-based face oil called Sulwhasoo Gentle Cleansing oil to remove my makeup. This product is lite weight and very gentle on the skin. I only need two pumps to clean a full face of make-up.

Cleaning Towels I am lucky I do not suffer from acne. I barely get them, and when I do, it has to do with stress or towels. So, I stopped using towels on my face months ago and moved to Clean Skin Club towels. This has been a game changer for me. It’s disposable towels that are gentle on the skin.

Cleanser and wash – I introduced Ava Estell products into my routine a few months ago, and it has been one of the best decisions. This is a black-owned brand that creates body and hair growth products. I use the foaming face cleaner for washing my face.

Face Mask this is my quick fix, glow face mask. The Versed Doctor’s Visit Instant Resurfacing Mask is the best thing ever. It has done wonders for my face. 10/10 recommend.

Lip Scrubs I love the fresh Sugar Lip Polish Exfoliator. I love this product so much; it has decreased the darkness of my upper lips.

Steamer I found using a steamer relaxing and refreshing. It reduces the stress on my face, softens, and helps with makeup application. Remember, the key to smooth and flawless makeup is excellent skin care.

Exfoliator – Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant has done wonders to my skin. I am new to the exfoliating gang, and this was a great choice to add. It leaves my skin well balanced and shines, eliminating dullness.

Toner Fenty Beauty Fat Water Niacinamide is a must for my color girls. It’s gentle and lite on the skin. It smooths and softens the skin. Great benefit, and it’s a must-have. It does have fragrance in it, but just the right amount.

Serum I recently added the Biossance serum after using another serum for months. This is a little too late for me. Sometimes I feel as though I did not use a serum at all. It’s of good quality, but I am unsure if it’s doing the job right. For now, it’s manageable until further notice.

Day & Night Moisturize – I use Good Molecules Discoloration Correcting Body Treatment for my daytime face cream. Now, this product is made to correct dark spots on your body, but I have also found it effective on my face.

For nighttime, I use the Ava Estell night cream. Very soft, lite fragrance, and gentle on the skin. It has helped with correcting dark spots and blemishes on my face.

Eye Cream – The vitamin-enriched eye-based cream by Bobbie Brown is best for targeting the dark under the eyes and tightening the skin. I love the under-eye lift and de-puff I get after using this. It has been part of my routine for months, and I will rebuy it.

Sunscreen – My favorite sunscreen is from Black Girl make it Matte sunscreen – SPF 45. This is the best; it matte all the product you apply to your face and just leaves a flawless finish. My favorite product.

Every skincare journey looks different for everyone. It took years, trials, and errors to find products that truly work for me. With the beauty industry being so big and many products being created daily, finding products that truly work for your skin type can be challenging.

I will recommend first identifying your skin type (use this Kiehl’s skin quiz) to help you get started, and then start with gentle products. The products listed above have been beneficial for my skin. I have seen tremendous changes in my skin.

That is all for today, queens; see you next time.
