November was an amazing month for me because I reached one of my biggest milestones of the year, which was hitting 10k followers on Instagram. Funny enough, I did not have this as a goal or milestone for the year written down. My goal for the first half of this year was to hit 1k followers by June and then push for 2.5k followers by the end of the year. Well, hard work and dedication does pay off.
You guys have been amazing to me, and from the bottom of my heart, I honestly want to thank every one of you guys for joining my growing brand. It is going to be fun in this tiny part of the internet of mine.
Let us jump right into this month’s Q&A. The questions are not answered in any particular order.
Question: Not a question but congratulations on 10K, sis. You’re such an inspiration.
Answer: Thank you so much, sis. I am so glad that my work made an impact on you. Thanks for being here.
Question: What made you stop posting your husband? I loved the content y’all created together.
Answer: Thank you, sis, but the truth is, my blog is meant for me to share my creativity and style with you guys. That is the sole purpose of my blog. Being a content creator does not mean it’s a family business or your entire family is a content creator. You can share them from time to time if you choose. For now, the blog is my job, not a family business. I hope you guys are not tired of seeing me yet because I am here to stay, and the blog is about me ☺
Question: Any photographer tips for posting daily?
Answer: The simplest answer will be to take as many pictures as possible when shooting with your photographer. However, how do you shoot that many pictures will be the next question. Well, a successful shoot requires planning and communication with your photographer. To take this concept to another level
- Try creating outfits around a theme.
- Fall theme, wedding theme, causal theme, winter theme, date night theme, errands team.
- Write the outfits down; try shooting one outfit multiple ways
This approach has helped me shoot 20-40 looks in two days with a maximum of two hours each day. The point here is to be very specific when it comes to shooting content and make sure everything is documented and shared with your photographer the day before the shoot so they can be prepared. Shooting multiple looks at once can enable you to post daily. I hope this lengthy but detailed response answers your question.
Question: Any blogger tips? You have inspired me to go after my blogging dreams.
Answer: Go for it. There is no easy way out; it requires lots of hard work and investment. Get discipline early on, so you know to show up always even when you’re not motivated to. Learn daily, take courses if you have to, or do research and see what’s working for others. If your initial niche does not work, try another one. Please find what you’re good at and blog about it. Take blogging as a full-time job, not a hobby that you can give up anytime. You show up daily at your full-time job because it pays the bills, and company policy says you must come to work five days a week and work 80 hours. Well, that is the same way you should take your blog, but you will be working seven days a week, working over 100 hours a week, spending money, and getting paid zero dollars for years. But that is just temporary. After a while, your investments will pay off. I wish you the best of luck, hun.
Question: Are you happy? You work really hard, I hope you are.
Answer: YES, I AM! It depends on how you define happiness. Some might say having enough money in the bank; others might say good health. For me, God, family, good health, healthy business, and a little bit more money, lol. I am happy, to be honest. I am also working on setting boundaries to keep that happiness. I want my life to be maximum enjoyment and less stress.
That is it for today’s queens, see you next time.
Xoxo, Mo!
