I can’t believe it has been a year already since I released my blog. It has been a year full of learning, unlearning, blessings, laughter, confusing, tears, meeting new people, and growth. All of this could not have happened if it was not God first and you guys, my amazing tribe second.
I love creating content; it is something that I did not know I loved until I started blogging. I constantly have ideas in my head to create. It has truly been a blessing for me. Here are 12 of my favorite photos and highlights of year one.
#1: Red blazer and black leather pants:
This was one of my favorite shoots. We shot this look in the middle of winter.
#2: Black on black look:
This entire look was under $100. The blazer is $25, the jeans $22, the shoes are from Zara, and on sale for $21, and the bag for $23. The glasses were $5. I loved everything about this look. I felt like a boss and confident.
#3: Black on black with a pop of color.
I executed this outfit effortlessly. The blazer is a repeat of the previous look. Ladies, I always shop from my closet.
#4: Bellanaija Style Mag Feature.
This one is not an outfit but a magazine feature. I did not see this coming. I woke up one morning and saw that the magazine had released a blogpost on me. I felt truly honored. This was one of my favorite highlights of year one. (Read article here)
#5: Blue and green look
I remembered sitting in my living room one Saturday afternoon researching looks and colors combinations to try for my next shoot. While doing my research, I saw this picture of a blue and green wedding theme on Pinterest. It seems interesting, so I paired this outfit, and it came out so well, and it was a hit. This look took me closer to exploring colors.
#5: Cool Spring Vibes
This outfit was one of those looks that I threw together last minute and did not expect much of it. Then it became one of the most engaging content. To me, it was an old skirt in my closet and a $10 shirt I threw together. How did it resonate so well with so many people that I do not know?
#7: White bridal dress
This outfit was created for a bridal party in mind. I asked myself, what dress would I wear to a court wedding, or would I want my bridal party to wear if I was getting married? And this look was created. I purchased this dress over a year before I did this shoot. Remember, ladies, shop your closet.
#8: Suit babes
I have been in corporate America for 8 years now. When I worked in the office, I always wore sets. This suit was meant for my office queens. I want you to walk into a room with an outfit like this and own the room.
#9: Winter classy
This jacket was my favorite purchase of winter 2021. It was on sale from $250 to $60. I could not wait to get my hands on and style it. I paired it with leopard print pants and a clear bag. I felt like a boss in this look.
#10: Jeans and T-Shirt dress
Everything about this look reminded me of New York Fashion Week. It was minimal but yet fashionable. You will most likely always find me pairing my jeans with some pumps, which is exactly what I did with this look. But I added a green pump for a pop of color.
#11: Black and yellow look
Fun fact, this is not a suit. The pants are from Mango, and the blazer was purchased from a thrift store. I loved everything about the blazer and its structure when I saw it at the thrift store. Everyone loved the look.
#12: Baltimore Voyage Feature
To round things up, I was truly honored by Voyage Baltimore for allowing me to share my story. It was a surprise and a blessing all in one. The magazine article gave me validation that I was doing the right thing with the blog. (Read the article)
Y’all, this was a hard one for me to rate myself in a sense. There are so many awesome looks created this year that did not make the list, but I had to choose anyway.
That brings me to the end of today’s post. It has been an amazing year for me. All the content I created told a story. A story that I enjoy sharing with you guys.
