Although we’re still a few weeks away from Fall, I am transitioning my closet to accommodate the colder months. I start with removing pieces I have not worn for over six months or more. I also take out with pieces that don’t suit my style anymore. Believe it or not, the styles or trend you liked about a year or so ago you might not find them pleasing anymore. And my friend, this is what we call fashion and personal style. It’s ever-evolving.
Today, I will be sharing some of the fall must-haves for your closet. I am starting to see what the trend for this fall will be on my feed as I stroll through, and I am happy to say that they are pieces I still have in my closet from summer.
First up is cut out pieces. If you love cutout clothes like dresses, tops, or jeans, don’t throw them at the back of your closet just yet because, my friend, they are part of the fall 2021 trend. If you have seen any runway show this year, you would have noticed that brands had some on the runway.
Speaking of jeans or denim, whichever way you call them, the jeans-on-jeans look is sticking around for this year’s fall. My favorite pairs of jeans are high-rise, and I planned to add new ones this fall to my closet.
Next up are the vest. I know this might sound a little surprising, but the vest is very fashionable. They are met to elevate those basic looks. If you’re not sure you want to add a vest to your fall closet, then just start by picking one up from the thrift store and test them out. The men section has good ones.
Also, trench coats. Now I know we don’t wear them during the summer but we will be needing them soon which is why it made the list. Not the heavy ones because it’s not that cold yet for them. Light-weighted trench coats are the perfect add-on to your fall closet.
If you’re not a coat person like myself, then a blazer will be the best piece for you to have. Some blazers like linen and cotton fabric are good for the fall; however, you add ticker pieces when it starts to get colder.
Basic tees and graphic ones are a must-have for your fall closet. They are meant to add a little character to your outfit.
Most of the pieces I spoke of are pieces you should already have in your closet—a piece you might have worn in the summer. Now just pair them a little differently for the fall.
That’s it for today, queens, see you next time.
Xoxo, Mo!
