WHY I BECAME A FASHION, BEAUTY &LIFESTYLE BLOGGER

We made it to 2021 friends! As you write your goals down for the New Year, I am sending you all the best this year has to offer.

Change is inevitable, and the best way forward is to adapt to the changes that occur in one’s life. Wow, I cannot believe this happened. Well, technically, I saw it coming; but I was not willing to accept this change right away.

So why did I become a Fashion, Beauty & Lifestyle blogger from Relationship and Lifestyle blogging? Here is the funny story. Blogging was something I always wanted to do. I wanted to share something with the world. I did not know what. When I got married, I thought I found the perfect topic to blog about. It was my journey as a millennial wife. I wanted to straightly share my journey as a millennial wife, nothing more or less.

The thing about God is,  a man can plan, and He disposes of it. You just got to love the old man. My journey as a Relationship and Lifestyle blogger was short-lived because my love and passion for fashion took over. I remember when I used to post about my experience of marriage, my audience would comment on my looks more than the topic or what I was trying to say. When I got featured on other Instagram pages or when readers shared my content, I was tagged as a Fashion blogger. It is funny now, but before, I had a hard time accepting that. I needed people to see me as a relationship blogger, not a fashion blogger.

Many nights I complained to my husband, friends, and my parents. Everyone will have the same response, so what’s the problem again? They are reading your content, right? They are engaging with you, right? You are connecting with them, right? So why are you not satisfied with this? I had a vision of how I wanted to engage my audience with my content, hence the dissatisfaction.

Truth be told, I also believed I was doing a poor job as a Relationship and Lifestyle blogger. Simply because, there were topics about marriage I was not comfortable blogging about. You have to understand, I am a newlywed who is trying to understand the concept of marriage. In order to provide quality content to you all, I need to fully understand the topic well enough before speaking on it.

One day, I had a conversation with my friend and explained the challenges I was facing with my blog. She said something that stuck with me. She said, “God opened the door for you to start this journey; the path is changing, that does not mean you’re not heading where you’re meant to be.”

That was the turning point for me. After that, I started to pray hard and mighty to God. I said, Lord, show me the way, make it all make sense, and let me know what I should do with the blog. You have to remember changing my content means I have to change the name, website, domain, host, etc. All of these will cost money, and I currently earn absolutely nothing from blogging.

But here is the thing, I put my faith in God. Fashion is what I am known for amongst my friends and family. Without even speaking a word, my audience began to see me as a fashion blogger. For the longest, I fought this change. Now, I have decided to allow God to lead the way. Wherever this journey leads me, I know it is where I am meant to be. I am looking forward to sharing style tips, beauty products and a glance into my life with you all.

Weekly, I will post fashion content, from brand reviews, to weekly brand sales, and monthly Q&As both on my blog and social media platforms.

Thank you for stopping by and Happy New Year Friends. Until next time, please comment, share and repost.

Xoxo, Mo!
